Utility Work

NNEC continues to improve the reliability of its electrical system by managing rights-of-way and completing system upgrades when necessary. Below are some areas in which NNEC crews and/or contractors will be working over the next month.

Digital Meter Update

Northern Neck Electric Cooperative and its contractor, Wesco, have begun a multiyear project, replacing all member meters with more efficient, new models through and likely beyond 2027. These upgrades feature advanced outage detection, allowing crews to isolate and resolve power interruptions more quickly. Members will have access to improved data reporting and be able to better manage energy use. Technicians will need to gain access to existing meters. Work has begun in Richmond and Westmoreland counties.

Tree Trimming

Asplundh, our vegetation management contractor, is trimming in the Robley and Nuttsville areas of Lancaster County, heading toward Mollusk.

Mowing

Napier Utilities is mowing in the Tetotum area of King George County, heading from Pine Hill Rd, then down Round Hill toward Colonial Beach.

Pole Changeouts

Danella is replacing poles throughout our service area for All Points Broadband.
