In mid-December, Northern Neck Electric Cooperative named Jim Robertson as its new manager of public relations, bringing nearly two decades of experience in electric cooperative and utility communications to the co-op.
Robertson will lead NNEC’s public relations and strategic communications efforts, with a focus on strengthening member engagement, enhancing community relationships and supporting the cooperative’s mission of providing safe, reliable and affordable electric service across the Northern Neck.
Throughout his 18 years of experience in the electric utility and cooperative sector, Robertson has led comprehensive communications strategies spanning media relations, member communications, crisis response, stakeholder engagement and digital storytelling. His work has supported operational priorities, regulatory initiatives and community-focused programs at both the local and statewide levels.
“Jim brings a deep understanding of the cooperative business model and a strong track record of connecting with members and communities in meaningful ways,” says Jenny Hayes, vice president of member engagement. “His experience and strategic approach to communications will be a valuable asset as we continue to serve our members and invest in the future of the Northern Neck.”
Robertson says he is excited to join the NNEC team and support its commitment to members and the region.
“I am honored to join Northern Neck Electric Cooperative and to serve an organization with such a strong reputation for reliability, service and community involvement,” he says. “I look forward to continuing to share the co-op story, strengthen member relationships and support long-term goals.”
