Northern Neck Electric Cooperative (NNEC) is proud to welcome Harvey Hill, a recent graduate of the Southside Virginia Community College Power Line Worker Training program, to the team as a new apprentice lineworker.
Harvey Hill has recently completed his training, gaining valuable skills and knowledge that have prepared him for a career in the power line industry. Hill’s commitment to his community and passion for the work make him an excellent fit for the NNEC team.
As an apprentice lineworker, Hill will undergo over 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and classroom instruction to achieve journeyman status. He will be working alongside experienced lineworkers to construct and maintain more than 2,100 miles of both above ground and underground power lines throughout the region. The job demands high levels of skill and safety, particularly when working with energized lines that can carry over 13,000 volts. Hill’s rigorous training ensures he is well-prepared to meet these challenges.
NNEC is excited to have Harvey Hill join the team and looks forward to his future contributions in maintaining the reliability and safety of the community's power supply.
