Check Your Mailbox: Annual Meeting Proxies

The Northern Neck Electric Cooperative Annual Membership Meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at the NNEC warehouse at 15105 History Land Hwy., Warsaw, VA 22572. The meeting will also be livestreamed at nnec.coop.

Below is a sample of this year’s proxy form being mailed to members this month. By completing and returning your proxy before 6 p.m. Sept. 17, you will be eligible to win one of five $500 electric bill credits. Follow the instructions on your proxy form. Members attending the meeting in person will have the opportunity to win one of five $100 bill credits.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT

The following director term expires with the Sept. 17, 2026, Annual Meeting: James A. Wise, Westmoreland County. Also on the ballot is *Mary E. Reed, King George County.

In accordance with the NNEC bylaws, the Board of Directors appointed co-op members to serve on the Nominating Committee to nominate one director to serve a three-year term.

The Nominating Committee met Oct. 20, 2025, and nominated James A. Wise for a three-year term.

*Based on a recommendation from the Nominating Committee, the NNEC Board of Directors elected to appoint Mary E. Reed to fill the vacant board seat, which expires in 2028, during the May 27, 2026, board meeting.
