Levelized Billing

The Levelized Billing Program is a payment plan based on a 12-month rolling average of your previous bills. The program provides participating members with a more predictable bill that fluctuates less throughout the seasons. By knowing the approximate amount of your electric bill each month, budgeting becomes easier.

To qualify for the program a member must:

  1. Have received service at the same location for at least 12 months.
  2. Your account must have a good credit history.
  3. You must not have paid late in the last 12 months.
  4. Available Residential accounts only.
Program participants will have their meters read monthly and receive monthly bills as normal; however, the amount billed will be based on a 12-month average, including the current month. Billing by this formula does not reduce your total cost for electricity, but rather evens out the fluctuations caused by higher energy use in the summer and winter.

Participation in the Levelized Billing Program may be discontinued at any time by the member and may be discontinued by Northern Neck Electric if a payment is not received by the due date or if the account has a returned check. Upon cancellation of the Levelized Billing Program, the account will be adjusted for any deferred balance.

You may apply for the Levelized Billing Program by printing and mailing the Levelized Billing Agreement or by calling our customer service department at 1-804-333-3621 or 1-800-243-2860 weekdays from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
