The major duties of this job are to accurately record and interpret assigned financial and accounting transactions consistent with approved and prescribed accounting practices and procedures.  Duties will include performing and balancing physical inventory of meters, transformers, regulators and reclosures; preparing Form 219, “Inventory of Work Orders” monthly; preparing special equipment summary monthly; preparing special equipment summary monthly; preparing and adjusting continuing property records (CPR) monthly; preparing annual tax report required by the Virginia State Corporation Commission; closing and balancing work orders monthly; updating standard costs and installation costs annually; and preparing meter report and transformer report monthly and balancing to work order plant ledger.  Duties will also include processing payroll; preparing and submitting federal payroll tax and state payroll tax; preparing and submitting all payroll related tax reports; and preparing employee W-2 forms annually.

Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university or an associate’s degree with at least three years’ experience. Salary commensurate with experience.  Excellent fringe benefits.  This institution is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer.
